The public vs. private sections of the notebook is set in different colors. This facilitates the users to differentiate both.
The best feature of google Notebook is that the user doesn’t have to leave the browser to use it. It can also save images and other similar information. You can use notepad as a scratch pad for various stuff that you track online. For this you have to email it to the person with whom you want to share the document. The notepad can’t be made public.
The demonstration of this new product have made it apparent that one can easily shop for the desired commodity online, save an image & information about the commodity write a note about it, and send it to his/her friends. The concept is new, cool and really beneficial.
Most people may still prefer the original version of google Desktop but switching over to this new invention may change their notion completely. The beta is available in many languages including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch & Brazilian Portuguese.
Google Desktop has also introduced a new concept known as gadgets. Gadgets are little application that a user can use to customize his/her desktop. One would show you the weather report, another may work as a drop down menu with news headlines, a third may show videos and other would offer varied games.
There are hundreds of such gadgets available at present. The Google Desktop gadgets API can help many developers to create many more gadgets and sharp them with other keen users.
This is not the only advantage associated to Googly Desktop 4. You have to realize & experience these gadgets to know their real worth.
These gadgets can create a home page for you as per your instructions. The homepage will be exactly what you picture in your mind. These home pages may also be related to the topics you enjoy.
Marissa Mayer, vice president of search products says “it has figured out that I’m a movie buff & that I use eBay & that I travel a lot”. The statement was based on the results observed during the demonstration of the product.
The product would be of great help to the users in terms of saving their money for their own personalized homepage.
There are many other exclusive google desktop features that would offer assistance to the users. Many of these features are associated to gadgets.
The new features inculcated in the google desktop features are as given below.
a) Users can easily access their google gadget content and settings from other computers and even safeguard it from hazards such as computer crashes. The exclusive features in Google Desktop facilitate the whole process by saving the content setting online.
b) Users can easily add favorite gadgets from their own personalized google homepage on to their desktop directly.
c) Users can also access many other google services from their google desktop for instance; one can view important personal details like upcoming birthdays with the orkut.com gadget. User can also see what’s popular on google video or access their Google calendar directly on the desktop.
d) The new google desktop features allow the users to re-index their computers manually. Users may also remove deleted files from search results.
Network administrators who are particular about security will be extremely delighted to know that Google Desktop 4 now offers an option for them to disable search Across Computer on both the consumer & enterprise versions of the product at the network level. The task is efficiently accomplished by blocking access to specific URL.
A user can type in a search term, or several search terms separated by commas. The process is very easy. Just “enter” and you get a page with several charts.
The top chart will help you to observe the number of searches conducted for that particular term. It also shows the frequency under which it was mentioned in the news over a period of time. Drop-down menus allow you to adjust both the time period & the region of the world focused on. If you use multiple terms they show up in different colors. Several clickable news items are highlighted to the right; letter-coded flag on the chart offers information about the time when they were published.
The advantages related to google Desktop are not confined only these. There are numerous other benefits that a user can enjoy. The desktop contains a bar graph that allows the user to compare the frequency of the terms searched for.
For instance, you are comparing “boxers” vs. “briefs” and you are looking at cities. In this case, you can easily see that boxers are a lot more popular in Tampa, but they don’t enjoy much popularity in Austin. Click on the “Regions” tab & you can make a comparison between various searched conducted in different countries. The languages tab may take a bit longer to load but it will also benefit you to a great extent.
This is the main reason that these products have been offered the name “beta”.
A common man would think that a search on boxers vs. briefs would be confined to underwear and products on the similar line. However, the search & the results produced are quite different from what is generally assumed by a common man. The judgement based on the new stories during this search has shown that legal briefs were also drawn in to the mix, as well as other kinds of briefs (news briefs, sports briefs & so on).
With this kind of restrictions held, it should be quite easy to see the method by which any search engine optimization expert or advertiser can cultivate excellent utilization of this information.
To be more specific in this regard, if you want to shift your advertising campaign to an area of the world where you have very little knowledge or presence, this can offer you certain clues regarding the kind of reception you will receive and where exactly you need to apply your time & efforts.
The google co-op beta would convince the skeptics that Google really gets web 2.0. Experts in this field state that the new service in the Internet world can help users to subscribe to another user’s content, labels & links. These further get added to the search results of the subscribing user’s search results when they put in relevant queries.
A subscriber from the labels & links associated to the centers for Disease control can expect to receive some really useful, elaborative, accurate and in depth content if he/she searched on for instance “recent epidemics”.
You can also take an example similar to one that was effectively used by Google itself. This revolves around a doctor who could tag particular pages relating to his area expertise. A patient here can subscribe to the doctor’s information and here he can allow the two to become even closer collaborators in keeping the patient hale & hearty all the while.
If we go further beyond this we can imagine something more. For instance, if a doctor is very busy and is unable to attend more patients or has a widespread eminence for being the best in the town, then someone who is not a patient of his but suffering from an ailment that he is known to treat, can easily subscribe to his links & still benefit from his expertise.
Google has already started collaborating with partners to annotate web pages that are related to health & city guide. This step is taken towards the hope that the broader online community will help build out new topic areas.
Users who are keen on subscribing to content can easily subscribe themselves by visiting the site address mentioned below.

The new service offered by Google desktop is available on all English language oriented google domains. The domains include Australia, Canada, New Zealand & the United Kingdom.
The all new Google desktop service reminds of most of the other tagged search engines that people have heard of & even tried a number of times before. These search engines also offer services on the similar note and are famous among most Internet savvys. However most people are concerned about the method that google adopts to plan in order to make sure that anyone who claims to be an expert in a specific area is really a true-blue expert in that particular area.
It would be more interesting to see what is actually built up from this beginning.
Google has already signed on the centers for Disease Control, the Mayo clinic & Kaiser Permanente by now. This is a positive step towards offering health data & sounds an interesting & good initiative.
Sergy Brin’s comment at Google’s has made many spectators raise their eyebrows. He stated, “We probably abuse the word beta”. Till now, we have clearly understood that the four new products recently launched by Google namely, google co-op, Google Desktop 4, Google trends & google Notebook are a boon to the users who always expect something new, effective & beneficial in terms of technological marvel.
These four beta products are power packed with great benefits for the users and google is all set to enter the area of technological advancements online.
More & more people are adopting these methods and have already benefited.
This has also solved the mystery of whether the search engine giant, Google has really joined hands with web 2.0.
