Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi resigned from Lok Sabha and as Chairperson of the National Advisory Council. She has set a fine example of political “Moral Values”.
Media in India is in search for a scoop every day. It is a good feed for them. Every one is moving one-step ahead in “praising” her move. Some even went ahead and compare her with Mahatma Gandhi. This is what “Indian Media” is.
I have not forgotten the days when the same media was on criticizing Sonia being a Foreigner, or her inability to speak Hindi and so on.
This wont help, as Sonia Gandhi is a Simple and Straightforward person. She believes in her own principles. Posing her tall and creating media hype will not affect her dignity. Her decision to resign was the different.
She was hurt with dirty politics. From several years, the atmosphere created around her led her to do so.
“I have been dragged into a needless controversy. I hope people in Rae Bareli will understand me” That is the part of her speech during her resignation announcement.
This clearly indicates that she wants to stay away with dirty politics. Moreover, media needlessly comparing her with Mahatma Gandhi. A leader is not a follower; he has its own Identity. He or she is not a shadow of any one, but they create their own follower.
Comparing her with Mahatma may fuel another debate and controversies. Gandhi was a “Mahatma” and called “father of nation” No one is close to him not only in India, but also all over the world. People criticize him to get fame and name and some use his name for fame.
