Google is moving to its new data center named as “Big Daddy”. Now it will be a default source for web results. This shifting will have a significant updates in its database. Time watch the winners and losers now.

Around 15.00 IST (Indian Standard Time) few of my test sites shows different results. The notable changes were as follows:

1. Massive fluctuation in PR: Some sites gained PR5 from 0 levels directly, that’s a great deal. But some looses its PR i.e. from PR6 to PR 4 and PR5 to PR4. This indicates that there are other factors that determine the value of page other than back links.

2. Most of the back links are scrapped. Google was not showing entire incoming links. It looks like it chooses only very important back links to display. This may be turmoil for those who are involved in link trade. Sites which are made solely for trading links will loose its importance.

3. Huge impact in Site Popularity. Some sites drastically loose its popularity i.e. 38,000 to 1100 and some gains a lot i.e. from a mere 200 to a solid 5000+. This may be an indication that now Google has a different angle for measuring link popularity.

Querying Big Daddy datacenter located at 66.249.93.104 it shows different results. Future Page rank tools are confirming the changes.

To confirm my observations about this test run by Google, I checked around 19.00 hours IST and find out all the old rank was restored.

Sooner or later Google will be moving to Big Daddy. This may be done tomorrow or any time. One thing is sure, Fate of many is decided and Big daddy is smarter than all.
