It is almost more than 2 years I am in New Delhi the capital city of India. I love this place and there are ample opportunity to grow. People are good and simple. Still there are few things which makes me feel sometimes Kolkata was a better place
What bugs me most the attitude of sales and support people. Either they dont know there work or they dont want to work. All they do is filling up certain formalities and show the report to there boss. Nothing else, No one ever bothered about the person they are handling. Useless people do useless things.
Surprisingly they work for most reputed MNC’s like, Reliance, VSNL, ICICI Bank, MTNL, Airtel, City bank and many more. The standard of there calls are very low and they speak without any prior knowledge. Most of the callers are females without any head
Here are few examples:
1. Call from reliance billing department always calls you on your mobile no matter where you are. They will take it a granted that they have called and must speak to you. They never know if the bill is paid, but keep on asking you that if you paid that or not. If you say yes they ask you reciept nos. ( A hard thing to get) means you have to travel with your reciepts too. Are they a bunch of fools and never check there system wheather the customer is paid them or not, or they dont maintain any such system.
2. A guy from VSNL called on my mobile early morning 2 AM and ask me if I require bandwidth for my call center. Wel Well Well
thanks a lot, dude you made me a proud owner of a call center. I asked him is this a right time even if I run a call center. The reply was sorry. Out of my curiosity I asked him one more question about communication with overseas clients and to my utmost surprise he revealed that he is from one of the reputed call center in Noida and do calls like this in US and UK market. I understand now very well why the image of our country is falling down.
After I ask him how did he get my nos., he replied that he got it from my website. I ask him there is an email too given on site, he said emails took time so he called me up directly.
3. You go any where, contact any company for support you will find every one is in hurry. Most of the girls attending the calls never know what they are speaking. Its a real shock how a person speak so much without any knowledge
You buy a mobile phone in Delhi and immediately your nos. will be distributed to several call centers. You will not be getting the calls from your near and dear one’s but you have to attend the calls from ICICI, Reliance, Tata Indicom, HDFC and bla bla bla. No one bother to send you a mail for an appointment for discussion. Every one is busy in fulfilling his/ her target only.
Companies need to take this seriously as there image goes down like any thing. A brand and goodwill took years to grow and these are the biggest crack in there system and result will be reshuffling of there customers.
