Finally at least some one raised hopes abou the electric meter havoc.

The state consumer Redresaal commission ordered today that Private Power Distribution companies (Discoms) should not collect bills based on new meters. Discoms asked to clarify that why new meters were installed before declaring the old meters faulty.

Reliance owned BSES - Rajdhani and BSES - Yamuna along with TATA owned North Delhi Power Ltd. (NDPL) has been issued a showcause notice as per Indian Electricity Act to clarfy the meter installations prior to declaring existing meters non functional.

The only problem with the out come is, The consumer has to pay an average bill from past six months, instead of present electric bill. This is not justified as meters are running from one year almost and bills are high since then. if you calculate the average six months billing it will not be much different.

Some one should take action against this and think again for the justified billing system.
